DELTA PIKIN SCHOOL INITIATIVE (DPSI)

The Delta Pikin School Initiative (DPSI) is our flagship annual project designed to advocate for and deliver access to quality education for children in the most underserved rural communities across all Local Government Areas in Delta State, Nigeria.

This initiative is a direct response to the alarming number of out-of-school children and the systemic barriers that prevent children in rural areas from accessing and completing basic education. Through DPSI, we provide holistic educational support and infrastructure, while actively working to enroll, retain and empower children—particularly those facing financial hardship or neglect.

Core Objectives of DPSI
1. Enrollment of Out-of-School Children: Mobilizing and enrolling children who are not attending school due to economic or social barriers.
2. Scholarships: Offering full educational scholarships across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.
3. Educational Materials: Distributing essentials such as school uniforms, sandals, bags, textbooks, notebooks, and writing materials.
4. Free JAMB Forms: Supporting access to higher education by providing free registration for Nigeria’s university entrance examination.
5. Infrastructure and Amenities: Enhancing rural schools through:
• Provision of marker boards, desks, and chairs
Renovation of dilapidated buildings, windows, and roofs
• Construction of new classroom blocks
• Advocacy for clean water and safe sanitation facilities

Why DPSI Matters
Education is a fundamental right and a critical driver of personal and national development. Yet, many children in rural areas face harsh realities:
Poverty-stricken homes where even basic learning tools are a luxury
Long treks barefooted to school
Child labor or early responsibilities that keep them out of school
Lack of parental awareness of the value of education

At Delta Pikin Initiative, we believe education is the most powerful weapon to break the cycle of poverty. It fosters critical thinking, builds economic resilience, and creates a future filled with opportunity and dignity.

Our Impact
Through DPSI, we are not just distributing materials — we are building a pathway to hope. By investing in a child’s education, we:
• Promote academic growth
• Improve learning outcomes
• Restore children’s confidence and dignity
• Protect their rights
• Strengthen rural communities from the ground up

This initiative is our long-term commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of background, gets the chance to survive, thrive, and build a better future.

HUNGER NO MORE

Food is a basic human right — yet, every day, millions of children, women, and families in rural communities go to bed hungry.

Hunger No More is a compassionate feeding and relief initiative designed to fight hunger and restore hope for vulnerable individuals—especially women and children — who are living in abject poverty. It is rooted in the belief that no one deserves to suffer simply because they cannot afford a plate of food.

In many of the underserved communities we serve, poverty isn’t just a statistic—it’s a lived reality. Children skip school because there’s no food at home. Mothers watch helplessly as their families struggle to survive on nothing. The elderly are forgotten. The displaced are starving. But together, we can change this.

Through this project, we provide:
• Cooked meals and raw food packs to families in need
• Nutritional support for undernourished children and pregnant women
• Emergency relief food drives in times of crisis or displacement
• Community feeding events that restore dignity and belonging
• Advocacy for sustainable food access and community gardens

Hunger No More goes beyond charity. It is about restoring dignity, saving lives, and feeding the future. One plate, one family, one community at a time.

Because when we feed, we don’t just fill stomachs—we fuel dreams.

I. Send a Box of Love
Many children in orphanages arrive with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Send a Box of Love invites the community to donate boxes filled with essentials—clothes, toys, books, stationery, toiletries, and more. These simple gifts restore joy, confidence and hope in the lives of vulnerable children.

II. Sponsor an Orphan
Sponsorship changes everything. From school fees to healthcare and basic needs, sponsorship bridges the gap for orphans longing for stability. Through this program, individuals and groups can support a child’s education, well-being, and emotional development—bringing lasting change to their lives.

III. Financial Aid for Orphanages
Many orphanage homes lack the resources to properly care for children. One Hand of Hope provides financial aid to supply food, bedding, educational materials, caregiver training, and facility upgrades—creating a nurturing and dignified space for every child in care.

IV. Pray for an Orphan
Even if you can’t give financially, your voice matters. Be a Voice for an Orphan by sharing their stories, advocating for their needs, raising awareness on social media, or educating others about their rights. Advocacy brings attention—and attention brings change.

ONE HAND OF HOPE reminds us that just one extended hand can transform a child’s life. Together, we can bring hope, healing, and opportunity to every orphaned child.

GOLDEN HEARTS

Many elderly people once lived full, dignified lives—raised children, worked tirelessly, and built communities. But now, forgotten by family or left behind in remote villages, they suffer in silence—alone, invisible, and struggling just to survive.

Golden Hearts is our compassionate response—a project dedicated to restoring dignity, love, and care to the aged in slums, rural villages, and senior homes. We believe aging should never mean suffering. These men and women deserve not just to live, but to be celebrated, supported, and cherished.

MEDICAL/EMERGENCY AIDS

In many rural communities, one of the most devastating barriers to survival is the inability to afford healthcare. Thousands of children, women, and vulnerable families suffer — and sometimes die — not because help doesn’t exist, but because they can’t afford to access it.

Through the Medical / Emergency Aids project, Delta Pikin Initiative steps in as a bridge between life-threatening need and life-saving care. This project is specifically designed to support underserved individuals and families in rural areas by helping them pay for urgent and essential medical treatment.

MEDICAL AIDS

+
We cover a wide range of medical and emergency needs, including:

* Payment of hospital bills for the critically ill, injured, or chronically sick
* Emergency surgeries and treatments that would otherwise be out of reach
* Provision of prescribed medications and diagnostic services
* Maternal and child health support, including antenatal and postnatal care
* Referral transportation to nearby health facilities for emergency cases
* Basic health education and advocacy on preventive care and hygiene

In addition, we engage locally trusted community health workers who serve as frontline responders — identifying urgent cases, monitoring treatment, and providing follow-up care to ensure recovery and dignity.

We believe no one should lose their life or live in prolonged pain simply because they cannot afford treatment. Through this project, we give families a chance to fight for their health, their loved ones, and their future.

PROJECT TELL

(Teaching, Empowering, Lifting Lives)

Project TELL is one of the growing projects of Delta Pikin Initiative that supports skill building and empowerment for rural women. These women are powerful, strong, and purposeful, but often deprived by the circumstances of abuse, inequality, and lack of pportunities. These challenges have hindered their personal development, economic empowerment, and community leadership.

Historically, rural women are key contributors to agricultural production, food security, climate advocacy, enterprise, and citizenship. Yet, their efforts are often unrecognized and their full potential underutilized.

When women are empowered, they contribute to their family’s income and become active change leaders in their communities. It is no gainsaying that if you build a woman, you build a community — and a $1 investment in a woman is a smart investment. When she is empowered, her generation and her family are empowered.

Through Project TELL, we sustainably empower rural women by providing:

* Vocational and skill-building training
* Access to small-scale business capital
* Mentorship and leadership development
* Health and wellness education
* Financial literacy and entrepreneurship support

Project TELL helps women reclaim their voices, build a future of economic independence, and become strong pillars of change within their communities.
